Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

I feel great after taking the weekend to rest.  I have a lot more energy then I did last week.  This morning there was a bit of snow outside and my neighbor doesn't like running in snow so we had decided last night to go to the indoor track.  We were to meet at 6:00.  I sat in my car and waited but she didn't come and there were no lights on at her house so I left.  I did the first two miles alone and then she showed up after having slept past her alarm.  I guess a benefit of track running is that she was able to join me half way through.

There is a boot camp that meets Mon, Wed, Fri at the Rec center.  Today the instructor had them run 4 laps then do some strength training, then back for 4 more laps(the track is 13 laps for a mile).  They came up to the track a few times and the competitiveness in me kicked in.  I just had to pass all of them and couldn't let anyone pass me. This made me run pretty quick.  There was one man who was pretty fast and I could only hold him off for one lap, then he passed me.  Other than that, I was able to pass all of them(about 20 people).  I know it is silly competition because they had been doing other exercises in between and looked really tired but still, I couldn't let the boot camp win, and they didn't.

Today was a COLD run.  I am not sure what the exact temperature was, msn said 7°, it was the coldest I have felt while running this winter.  I did get to try out my yaktrax for the first time.  Unfortunately there is a lot of snow by my house but not as much on the main roads where we ran.  So I got to see how it felt but had to run on a clear sidewalk for a lot of the run.  I think I need to go take a hot shower and then jump in bed to warm up!

I did a P90X workout today that was focused on shoulders, back, and arms.  It was a nice workout because it was mostly weight lifting and not push-ups.  I hate push-ups.  I enjoyed working on my arms and visiting with my friend.

I was very tired this morning when the alarm went off.  I don't know how so many of you can get up at 4:00 and 5:00 to run!  6:00 always comes too early for me.  I did the standard 4 mile route, it was so much warmer this morning.  It felt nice and warm even though it was probably in the 20's.  Compared to Tuesday's run, the temperature was a vast improvement.

I met the running group at the trail this morning for 9 miles.  It was a good run.  The first half I had some weird abdominal pressure.  It felt like I needed to pee, but I know I didn't.  I am starting to feel more pregnant, I think that is what the pressure was.  It finally went away between mile 3 and 4.  Carolyn sped up for the last mile and then continued on 7 more miles.  I just didn't have it in me to speed up for the last mile after already running 8 but it was still a strong finish, just not quite as fast as Carolyn, which is nothing new:)
