Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

Today started out tough but I ended feeling great.  I tried to warm up a bit more, but when I started running I still had the pains I have been getting.  I ran/walked for the first 1.5 miles but then I was able to solid run the rest of the miles.  I am still counting the entire loop as miles even though a bit was walking.  I am actually excited that I did the whole loop instead of wimping out.  Also at the end I felt like I could keep going, I wasn't even tired.

Good job getting through the pain. I guess it'll just take you a while to warm up enough that you don't feel pain when you run! It's nice that you are still able to enjoy running, even if it is only at the end!

good news!

maybe you could try doing a brisk walk for the first .40 for a warm up and then running the last 4. do you think that would be enough warm up?

Great job today. It does sound like you just really need to take it easy at the beginning and warm up slowly, and then you're good to go.
