Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

Today is the first time in a long time that I haven't done my scheduled run.  My husband had to fly to Nebraska this morning and leave at 5:00 a.m.  Consequently, no run for me.  It was nice to sleep in with daylight savings taking away an hour.  After I had a nice long sleep, I rode the bike for 45 minutes.  It was a good workout and probably a good thing I was forced to not run today so that I could get some extra rest and get over my sickness.  My husband, Ben, will be back tonight so I will back to running tomorrow morning.  Hopefully with lots of energy!

That's a really quick trip for him today.

I wondered if you'd skip your run today because of your sickness, but it sounds like you would have run if Ben had been home. I think the rest today will do you good.

Good job of getting in some cross training. And Carolyn's right! It'll probably be good for you since you have been under the weather.

A bike day is good on a taper week. Are you planning any taper for Moab this weekend?

Daylight savings always knocks us all on our butts...and back to darkness in the morning is hard too!

I think a day off will do you good. What is your goal for the half?

From Michelle on Tue, Mar 16, 2010 at 09:47:11 from 97.118.13.58

RAD- I don't really plan on much taper because my running schedule isn't that strenuous to begin with. I did take Monday off, and Friday I will skip the P90X workout. I guess that is a bit of a taper.

Vinh- My goal is to finish strong. I would like to say I want a PR, which I do. But with being pregnant, running is a whole different story. I would love to be able to beat my 2:09 time but if I am struggling I can't push it too hard, like I could and would without being pregnant.
