Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

Today I ran alone.  I went faster than I normally do with my neighbor.  I don't know how fast I went but I could tell I was running faster and I was breathing harder.  I added .5 miles at the end and still got home at the same time.

While running I was crossing a neighborhood intersection and saw a car approaching.  I could tell they weren't going to stop for me and sure enough they weren't planning on it.  I pulled back and ran in place, at the last second the driver saw me and slammed his breaks on.  If I hadn't pulled back I think I might have been hit.  I am glad I was paying attention!

Yikes! I'm glad you were paying attention and didn't get hit by that car!

If I had gotten out about 10 minutes earlier this morning, I might have seen you on Cresthill Lane. I was heading north on Cresthill at about 6:45, but I'm sure you had already gone past there by then.

I'm SO glad you were paying attention and saw the car that didn't see you! I always worry about stuff like that when I'm out. Glad you got a good run in at a great pace! Keep up your hard work!!

Nice run Michelle! There's too many drivers who don't pay attention to runners. I'm glad you were okay.

I'm glad you were on top of things and watching out for stray drivers. I had an experience on Sunday where I was focused on a car coming from one direction, and didn't see the car coming the other direction and nearly ran right into them. Totally my fault too.

congrats on your faster pace as well
