Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

It was nice to wake up this morning feeling tired like a Monday, but then realize it was actually Tuesday.

I did the standard 4 mile route this morning.  I was tired and fatigued but got is done.  I had clothing issues today.  The running pants I wear most often have been getting old and when I put them on this morning a hole ripped where they had been getting threadbare.  Goodbye to my favorite running pants.  While running, I dealt with some chaffing on the right side of my back near my shoulder.  I tried to adjust my clothing to stop the chaffing which kind of worked.  Hopefully this doesn't become a regular occurrence.

Well, you've run farther today than I have.

Too bad about the clothing issues. If you find you have a spot that continues to chafe, try just rubbing some deodorant on it when you get dressed to run. I do that because it's more convenient than getting some Body Glide.

I just slop some vaseline on the areas that I know are going to chafe. I've never tried the deodorant thing.

crazy chaffing spots! For me they come and go, I hope this one goes for you. Nice job getting up and out this morning despite all the snafus with the clothing and being tired (as any good mother is!).

Nice run Michelle. How did the hip feel today?

From Michelle on Wed, Jan 20, 2010 at 14:24:47 from 63.227.3.181

Vinh- my hip is feeling much better. It still is a little sore from time to time but there is a ton of improvement.
