Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

I was concerned about running today and when I started the pain in my lower left abdominal area came back quickly.  I was really bummed.  I walked for a block and then tried running again.  I walked twice in the first half mile but then I was able to complete the rest of the run without walking.  The great part about the run is that my neighbor caught up with me quickly and we ran together.  The time went by so fast and it was enjoyable to catch up with her a little.  I am glad I didn't have to cut the run short today.

Maybe you need to briskly walk for a few minutes as a warm up? I don't know, but I do know that I would have given up. You're awesome!

Tracy, I think you are right. I might start out with walking every morning. Especially because the first part is all uphill. I am thinking I should walk to the top and then start running.

Yes, I think you should walk to the top of Collegiate. That's a really tough way to stop a run, even for someone who's not pregnant.

It sounds like warming up would help so you can run without pains. Especially up a hill...that's a tough way to start out.

Glad you had a good run and good company.

I second the warm-up suggestions! I run SO much better after a little warm-up, and unfortunately I'm just figuring this out :) Today I did the elliptical first and I had a WONDERFUL run (it was only 1 mile, but still - I usually HATE the first mile!).

I'm glad the pain subsided and that you were able to have a good run with a good friend. Running is SO much better when it's 'social hour' :)
