Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

I slept so good last night it was sad when the early alarm went off to go running.  I went inside today because it was pretty cold and a fair amount of snow on the ground.  I used to hate running indoors but I am now learning to appreciate having an indoor option.  It is nice that I still ran 4 miles and am not sitting here freezing cold.  My neighbor used to never run in the winter because she would loose her motivation and would not go outside.  Now, she will brave the cold with me most of the time.  I guess we have helped each other find a happy medium.

Running on a flat track inside also helped us to run faster.  After the first mile my neighbors watch said we ran a 7:50 pace.  We were running really fast and I was tired but I am pretty sure her watch was a bit off.  I don't think we were that fast but still, we ran a lot faster then we run on the hills outside.

I'm glad you got a good sleep. I slept well but just didn't get to bed early enough.

It's great that you and Michelle have found a happy medium together.

I would probably run inside sometimes if I had that option. It's not that I'm so tough, I just don't have many options.

flat and warm you could do a 7:50. One piece of advice given to me that I really appreciated about track running was to make sure you alternate directions. The way your body pushes to go around the curves needs to be switched occasionally. However, on some tracks you have to run only one direction - this may be the case with you, but if you can try to alternate miles/directions.

Nice job simply getting up and out - that Monday alarm is the worst one!! Even with getting up early Sat and Sun, I hate Monday's early ring!

Great run Michelle! I don't think I can run on an indoor track that you have to run 100 times. I rather run on the treadmill. When does the weather get warmer in CO?

Winter options are fabulous! I'm envious of your indoor track. It sounds better than a treadmill, especially when you've got good company.
