Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

I love when my husband has the day off of work!  I slept in and had a great night sleep and then was able to run 6 miles.

At the beginning of my run I was approaching an intersection where I turn onto a bigger street(Quebec).  When I was still a block from the intersection another runner past by.  I was glad I was a block behind because if I was closer I would feel the need to speed up and pass the man.  However, when I got to the intersection and started running behind him the gap starting getting smaller.  I tried to not look at him and keep my pace nice and easy.  This continued for awhile until we hit a hill.  I usually accelerate going up a hill, and sure enough I passed the man.

I set out to have a nice easy slow run and it still was but I just can't help that little competitive edge that kicks in.  I know it is good to be a bit competitive when racing but I need to also be able to enjoy a slow run and not have to prove myself, to myself.

yeah...slow is fun, but getting roadkill on the streets is fun too! Nice run and enjoy the day off!

Great job passing the man, and way to get 6 miles in today. Was it the stiff-arm old man or someone else?

I got passed by some really fast runner when I was going north on Quebec towards the end of my run this morning. It was a guy wearing blue basketball shorts, a white hooded sweatshirt, and green socks. He was a lot faster than me. I had no chance of catching him and wasn't about to try. I was a little over 10 miles into my run at that point.

Great run Michelle! Always love to hear how you pass someone during one of your runs =)

Carolyn- It was not the stiff arm man. It was a younger man. He looked like a serious runner with a lean running body and fancy clothing. I haven't seen him in the early mornings before.
