Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

I have run 5K throughout my life.  I just ran the Colder Boulder in 25:33 which is a PR for me.

I ran two half marathons this past summer and my fastest time was around 2:09:? (My chip had issues and I was given a gun time but not a chip time, but I know I finished under 2:10:00)

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run a marathon during the summer of 2010.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running for fitness and fun.  I would like to improve my pace to comfortably average 30 seconds faster then I run now.

Personal:

I am married and have three children.  I enjoy friends, piano, singing, crafting, and organizing/cleaning my home.

I coordinated successfully with Carolyn and Michelle about our run this morning but only did half of the coordination with Ali.  I felt bad that we weren't able to meet up with her as planned because I forgot to call her and confirm the time and place, woops.

We ran an 8 mile loop that I have ran before but the other direction.  It was a good run.  Physically I felt strong but mentally I didn't really feel like running today.  As always, I am glad I went out and did it.  There were a few times on the run that I felt like running faster.  I know I can run faster than I do but I don't think I can sustain the speed for very long.  I worry about running out of steam in the middle of a long run so I usually keep my pace a little slower.

You've really got the speed when you decide to turn it on.

I am trying to figure out if you are the Michelle who speeded up at the end! Carolyn says Michelle No. 1 sped up. I think you are smart to not run out of steam in the middle of the run. My runs lately have been calling for speed at the end, and I quite like it that way!

Yes, she is Michelle No. 1 and she really speeded up at the end. The other Michelle and I couldn't catch her.

Awesome run! It's amazing how much of running depends on mental state. Glad you got out there and had a good run, despite not being ready mentally.
